Because its an honor to be invited to the White House to meet the president, and an opportunity to set politics aside. Had I been a member of a championship team over the past 8 years, I certainly would have gone. But, to each his own.
totally agree. Going to the White House is more about being on a national stage and receiving an honor for your accomplishment in front of all of the USA, not just the sport fan. It is not about who happens to be in office the year a team wins it. They should cut that shit out anyway because there is no all of the USA anymore.
