Duplantis would have scored bc the pitcher never looked him back. But that never happens and if you send him and he checks, hes out and possibly doubled up to end the inning. You cant have him go on contact. Also if they go for the double play I assume the go ahead run scores. so the pitcher who freaked ended up killing us there. The big problem was freeman tagging up on the misplayed ball by the rf yet doesnt score. He has to go halfway. And he scores there. He and fraley are the two fastest guys and freeman has to go with the backup 2b on the cutoff/relay who hadnt fielded anything cleanly yet. Yet Cain stopped him late per the announcer. There was hesitation and confusion by cain and freeman there. Freeman played like that the entire night especially on defense. Young team, will learn and will improve. Need starting pitching, some more pop (do you bench the jordan twins) and timely hitting. 12 left on base when you are less talented is a losing formula.. Poche is a longshot to return but would be a great start.
Poche returning would be huge, especially if Latz is fully healthy and lives up to the hype. When he was signed he was rate on an equal level with Lange. Whether we will have a dependable bullpen is another story

During the game? I dont know but it wouldnt make sense. He would be in negotiations at best and surely wouldnt reveal his hand as a junior even if he has decided already. Same with deichmann. Nothing means anything til the July signing date or whenever it is.
