I Just order the game using my moms address. I live in Illinois, they accepted it. So you can do the same. Geaux Tigers
Hopefully they don't do a WHOIS on your ISP and find out who the DNS registrar is, thus finding out that it is located in Illinois....
Yeah, good luck, I have MLB TV and I get blacked out on the TB and Marlin games and it is on my credit card whose billing address is in North Carolina.
I ordered MLB the other day as well and it looks at the ISP. I got someone from out of the blackout area to get the subscription for me and it still blacked out the Astros game.
Good News for out-of-towners!!! (well, so far)... I just had my mom buy the game with her CC (billing addy. in BR), and send me the logon info. Looks like they aren't bothering to filter based on a whois of your ISP or even a reverse DNS lookup your IP address. After logging on, I get this message: "You have successfully logged in to Fancast's streaming broadcast of LSU vs. Arkansas State. This broadcast will not begin until 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11. At that time, please refresh this page and the broadcast should begin in the Fancast Player automatically. You may be prompted to login again." My current IP would reverse to "IP-x.x.x.x.phila.rcn.com" right now. Take a guess as to where my ISP is located. Half the price of DTV, I hope the quality is OK. BTW, how is the quality of those MLB games streamed over the internet?
The MLB has improved since last year. I got it for a month last year and was not satisfied with the choppiness of the so-called streaming video. This time around when I got it, it really is streaming video, with your occasional hiccups. I got broadband cable connection, so I have no idea if DSL is just as effective.
I watch the games on LSUSports.net. It isn't good AT ALL! VERY choppy. I think it is only like 10 frames per second. Fancast tech support said this would be 30 frames per second...Very close to TV
