: CBS' Gary Danielson: Lack of quarterback Les Miles' downfall at LSU, but 'he might not be unemployed for two hours', http://blogs.theadvocate.com/tigert...son-lack-of-a-qb-has-been-les-miles-downfall/
Miles lacked the QB for the type of offense he wanted to run, which is run 75% of the time and complete 60% on the 15 throws he makes.
There are two huge holes in his argument. We went 13-0 and to a NC with Jordan Jefferson, and we had two 10-3 seasons with Mettenberger. The second hole is that every starting QB here since Matt Flynn has been a 4* recruit and a top ten QB recruit in the country, with the exception of Andrew Hatch.
Not really a hole. Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee were the beneficiaries of some of the best defensive units imaginable. TC McCartney could have won games with the 2010 and 2011 defenses.
Those last 3 games. Arkansas, Georgia, and Alabama, LSU had virtually no offense, absolutely none against Alabama. If not for Tyrann Mathieu, LSU loses against Arkansas and Georgia. Special teams was also unbelievable that year.
Had we shut down 'Bama again and won that year, that would have been one of the three best defenses of all time in college football.
