Sorry for the hiatus. I was out in the bayou all weekend.

I filled both of my tags pretty effortlessly. I'll post pics later.

Congratulations. Now, since you've pumped us for advice about your dispatch weapon of choice, I think it is only fair that we pump you for some details.

Ok, I shouldn't be posting this, but both of the bangsticks that we had didn't work. I was knocking the piss out of the gators with it and it wouldn't fire. Neither would his. We got them from the same guy online. Bangsticks are fucking garbage.

Let's just say that we improvised. ;)

@Cajun Sensation Did you test fire either bangstick before you went out?

No, and that's a good thing because apparently the a-hole that sold it (Bud's bangsticks) tries to say that the warranty is void if you ever fired a round out of it.

My friend that went with us got his last year and his only shoots when he hits a piece of wood with it out in the front yard.

    Will post pics momentarily

The 1st night (Saturday night), we put in at the MS/LA state line along the Pearl River at Hwy 90 (Chef Menteur Hwy). We put in right at dark and went south and saw many many gators, but they were small. I brought my 7 year old son with me so we brought a small 4 footer to the boat so he could see it, take pics with it, etc.

After playing cat and mouse with a big gator that we saw in the deeper water of the Pearl, we gave up and decided to head north of Chef Hwy (not much north). That's when we hooked into this guy. I fought him for 30 minutes or so. He knew he was fucked and put up a fight. After about 20 minutes, we got him to the top and my buddy put an arrow with a break away tip in him. We had a buoy attached to the tip just in case he broke loose. We fought him some more and he got tired and we were able to put a noose on him and put him in the boat.

The 2nd night was a joke. I brought my g/f with me. We put in at the same spot and, literally in a few seconds we spotted one in the deep water. 5 minutes after putting the boat in the water, we had him hooked and noosed. 20 minutes after putting the boat in the water, we were taking the boat out of the water with a gator in tow.

So, I filled my tags and got to bring my son the first night and my g/f on the 2nd night. Harvesting the gators was the easy part.
