If LeFors doesn't get hurt the outcome is probably different. 2 Louisiana starting Qbs. Gotta give credit to Broccoli I guess.
This is what pisses me off - I was arguing with tirk about it the other day - freaking Utah is ranked in the Top 10 largely on the basis of a win at home against unranked A & M. Utah says they deserve respect and a Top 10 Ranking. What a crock... You want into the big boy party? Strap your helmet on and get your ass on the road against some traditional powers and EARN the respect of the viewing public and the voters. Louisville went into the Orange Bowl and lost by 3 to the #3 team in America. They will move into a BCS Conference next year with some well deserved respect. Utah in the Top 10, give me a break.
not so fast. Just because you dont think Utah is a top 10 team doesnt mean they are not. Smoked A&M who has yet to lose which is a semi-quality game so far. Their schedule is pretty good in comparison to a few other ranked teams. They have excellent starters who can compete with anyone from what I have seen but they have ZERO depth. this QB alex smith will play on sundays for a long time. spoke with someone I know from there who told me he spends hours upon hours watching film where the coach had to kick him out and sent him home this week. told him to get some sleep. gotta like that in a college kid. Not saying Utah is top 5, maybe not even top 10 but I think quite possibly they are. top 15 at worst. just don't be so quick to dismiss them is all I am saying. Louisville is similar to Utah..both have excellent coaches and excellent QB's. Utah has a better defense while Louisville has the explosive offense. we'll see how it pans out but trust me, I told you Louisville had a great shot tonight and they may have won if LeFors doesnt get knocked silly. And Im telling you Utah is much better than you think.
All I'm saying is that a Louisville win tonight at Miami would not have been enough to put them past Utah because Utah is so over-ranked right now. I think Utah is a Top 20 team, not close to Top 10. There is a 1 loss Tennessee team out there, a 1 loss Texas team (both with Top 5 losses) a 6-0 Wisconsin team, and a 5-0 Arizona State team. Utah should be behind all of them at this point... Also, is it just me, or does anyone else foresee this season ending up a total duplication of last year. USC and OU run the table, Auburn wins out, and due to the changes implemented as a result of the USC whine-fest last year you can bet your bottom dollar the darlings won't be on the outside looking in. We could be looking at an undefeated Auburn, an undefeated Big 10 team, an undefeated USC, an undefeated OU, and an undefeated Miami or UVA... I can't wait to see how the media deals with this potential fiasco - why do you think OU can't seem to pass USC? The trojans are locked into #1 until they lose, and they likely will not. SOS would have been a big deal if these teams all stay hot...
well we can agree to disagree. just because you dont think Utah is top 10-15 doesn't make it so nor does me thinking they are make it true. For some reason you're singling out one team you aren't familiar with which is the same bias you blame the media for. Watch em, give em a chance. they're top 15 at worst (i think) and may surprise you. if you're basing it simply because they dont play anyone then i guess that can be said for OU and USC to some extent. Cal was a good test for USC as Texas was for OU but beyond that its a cakewalk in the big 12 and pac 10. OU is much more proven than USC after last year so SOS really is the missing variable that these pinhead media types omitted purposely and its pissing me off more and more as the season progresses.
yeah OSU showing up on the radar as the season progresses. What's the last 5 outcomes between you two? gimme some history. I know recently more than 10 years ago.
Last 5 years We are 3-2 against them. Last 9 years We are 4-5 against them. They seem to have a pretty good damn team this year with Morency the RB. He is leading the nation at that position. Les Miles has them believing they can win. He is a pretty good damn coach.
