The cornhuskers were rumored to have the "juice" problems under Osborne as well.

After what happened to Frank Solick.......
A man who began his coaching career in the Nebraska prep ranks, spent many years as a part of the University of Nebraska football program, as a player (Fullback), an assistant coach, before becoming the head coach- then directing the Cornhusker program to six consecutive bowl games, including the national championship game in the 2002 Rose Bowl- where Nebraska won at least nine games in five of those six seasons, and finished among the top 10 teams in the nation three times. Coach Solich compiled a 58 - 19 record at Nebraska.

A man who also claimed Big 12 Conference Coach-of-the-Year honors in both 1999 and 2001, and was one of seven finalists for the Paul "Bear" Bryant National Coach-of-the-Year Award in 2001.

All this to hear Steve Pederson say, “I have asked Frank to step down as head football coach. It is my belief that our program needs different leadership to carry us into the future." After a 9 win season ending 31-22 victory over Colorado?

Nutt would be a gone pecon. :hihi:

Arakansas is a mess.. they're lucky they have McFadden and Jones, once those two are gone they'll be an easy win for us every year

We all said that after they lost Matt Jones and all their other good players a couple years ago. Arkansas will probably never be able to sustain any greatness, but they always seem to hang around and put together a few good years in a row with a mediocre season sprinkled here and there.

It certainly is interesting that so many parents are getting in on the action in the Arkansas program. I don't even remember ever hearing so much about parents nosing in before.

That being said, back in the Jerry Stovall years, one of the position coaches called my dad because one of his former players was at LSU, and the dad was calling them complaining all of the time. They wanted my dad to call the father. My dad said (basically), "No thanks. I dealt with him for four years; now it's your turn."

So, obviously, parents are still involved (sometimes too much) at the college level, but it appears to be getting out of control at Arkansas.

I don't know if it's any more out of control at Arkie or just a few well publicized incidents. Heck a few years ago Vidal Hazelton signed his LOI to USC and his dad wouldn't sign it (wanted him to go to PSU) so it wasn't valid. Father, son, and USC/PSU duked it out over the next month. This last year James Wilson was an SC commit (his dad lives out here in L.A.) but his mom had kicked him out of the house and had Tebow's dad get involved to the point that Wilson de-committed.

So far, not a peep out of Williams's or Mustain's parents but they are far away now so maybe that's a better way to go.

ESPN says Monk has a bruised knee, but might miss the season opener. W/ about 2+ weeks to go sounds like more than just a bruised knee to me. More so if he misses the game. Could this parent be correct about ARK's training staff? It sure is sounding like it. Might actually be making this rant alittle more accurate. Dont ya'll think?

Definitely more than a bruise I'd say. Here's to a speedy recovery.
