Imagine dealing with the reality that your team was literally dominated, by a team playing stout defense, with a line up and stop me running game. We dominated these boys fore real. The final score doesn't come close to how awful of feeling it must have been to be a Duck fan and watch LSU repeatedly get punched in the mouth. Nothing said it more than the 3rd and goal hand off to Ford from the five. Les was playing the, "Im stronger than you, and theres nothing you can do about it." game. The shock of realizing you had no chance must still be burning deep. Those guys had a lot to say before the game, and didn't return to pick up their valet ticket. Everybody head to Zea's on Corporate. All roasted ducks are on me. Geaux Tigers!!!
I'm glad we had a warm up game before we get to conference play. You boys have a safe flight back. LSU
Quite Frankly, ... the game, IMO, was a heck of lot closer than the score showed. Granted, I have to give credit were credit is due, most of those turnovers were forced, which is good play, ... the game emphasized that Special Teams can win or lose a game for you. On the otherhand, the LSU pass defense needs some work. Also, while I'm all for great running backs doing all the running, Les is going to have to open it up a bit with more passing ... and the WR's are going to have to learn to make the plays. All said, .... LSU, IMO, simply has more power than the west coast teams. That is the signature of the SEC .. big, fast and powerful. You can bet, with a warm up game like that for the Ducks, they will like crush the rest of their schedule. LSU, on the otherhand, is going to have to step it up a notch if they intend to take the SECC.
If they do come back it will be excuses. Reading the paper this morning every quote from the Chip and the Duck team spoke more of them losing the game than LSU winning it. The turnovers, the penalties, the dropped balls. I hate to tell you but when you make these mistakes it means the other team got into your head and FORCED those mistakes. You got beat...deal with it.
Every unit on every team continually "needs work". No one will ever be complacent and say they don't need to keep improving. However, Oregon passed for what? 251 yards? They THREW IT 54 TIMES!!! Our defense, for most of the 4th quarter, played with a 20-point lead and the defense focused on just not giving up the big play, make them put together multiple-play drives to get downfield. No big-play drives. Every year....every game.....win OR lose....the people bitching and nitpicking and frustrated and complain the most are OUR VERY OWN FANS! While the ENTIRE nation is "WOWED" by our "Dominance" over Oregon, Tiger fans are freak'n pissin' and moaning that Randle's talents are wasted and our offense wasn't special and we gave up too many passing yards on defense. FFS, people!!!! WAKE UP! QUIT being cry babies!
That's the thing. People point at stats or certain aspects of the game but you have to take the whole into perspective. It's just like a news report taking taking a quote out of context. You can make it mean whatever you see fit. Bottom line you don't beat the #3 team in the country by 20 with a bunch of scrubs. (OK, 13 but we all know that last TD was in garbage time)
I dont nit-pick much, but RR is a talent that got thrown to 3 times...... Who wouldn't want to see this kid make more plays? Though, none of us are "pisssin and moaning", we just see areas where "WE" would like to see improvement. Frankly, LSU is still a passing attack away from a :crystal:. Nothing wrong with that, still love our Tigers.... It's a great win and i doubt you would find a Tiger that thinks otherwise....
