this may be true, but I much prefer a broadcaster with his "umph" than someone who is dead in the water like Joe Buck
i dont want that guy ever saying anything about lsu. he has gone from a good ambassador for college bball to one of the biggest problems with it. i pray he says some stupid things about blacks or muslims so his only outlet would be to write columns for the local durham newspaper.
What is so bad about Dick Vitale? He is one of the main faces of college basketball and he just loves basketball.
I don't know what the problem with him is... I've never noticed such a strong dislike for _______ sports announcers until I started coming to this site. I mean, it's not only happening here, but before I started going to message boards, I never noticed such a strong dislike for these guys. Hell, if I don't like them, then I don't listen. I happen to like Dick Vitale. I happen to LOVE the fact that LSU is getting respect from him. I'm not greedy, I don't care if LSU gets mentioned on national TV, it doesn't make ME feel any better... But, it means something to the players when they hear DV giving their team props.
My roommate went to see him at the PMAC when I was on campus. He gave a great talk to everyone there, reminding the players that they were not gods, and afterwards everyone cried and hugged each other. Ok, it sounds corny and oprah, but still, it's quite nice of a man to do such a thing.
