i agree with red that folks like beck give conservatism a bad name. he is an easy target to mock, a straw man for liberals to attack.

it is too bad the good ideas of small government and lower taxes and freedom from government intervention dont have a sane and well-spokedn representative in the mainsteam media. i suppose this is because being a minastream hit requires that you put on an absurd performance. you basically have to be a clown.

and i guess if milton friedman had his own show, it would be boring. you could watch it 4 times and know everything you need to know. his lack of screaming and crying would be boring.

It was in the context of the Henry Gates fiasco which certainly added some merit to the prospect. Beck wondered out loud, at the time, whether that may be the case as did a lot of people.

people on national tv (paid professionals especially) do not get the benefit of the doubt from me that he "wondered out loud". i believe the most likely explanation is that it was intentional and planned to push buttons. and that he was lying.

lying about obama being racist? nope. of course obama is racist.

i think even most social scientists concede that everyone is racist. it is part of being human, yunno feeling less comfortable about different tribes, from evolution, yunno. and reality makes us racist as well.

as to the question about whether beck was simply pushing buttons? of course he was. no big deal. i am sure he says far stupider stuff. being converted mormon is stupid enough for me to write him off entirely.

Glenn Beck also said that Obama is trying to give reparations to black people through healthcare. What kind of idiot would say that. What can of reparations do you receive by having to get sick first?
