LSU did the same with JR not traveling with the team for the Bowl game. Distractions for Flynn with the media following JR's every move on the sideline would be a risk no one would want to take. I am not sure but it could be a policy but can be broken if need be. Everytime Big Baby had a game he was swarmed by media. So not letting him travel during an important stretch seems logical. Other players get a chance to perform without all the Baby praise and the distractions that follow. In rehab it is important to follow the same daily routine to progress they way you should after an injury. Long traveling doesnt allow the time or equipment needed for success in recovery. I am sure that both JR and Baby were disappointed but they understood it was a necessary for the good of the team.
I'm the fence concerning Davis. Part of me think's he just not a NBA player. The other part of me sees him a Joesph Addai. A player who had great talent around him in college. a player who could slip down in the first round, go to a good team with good coaches, and be groomed by the staff, and be a good if not great player. While if he was chosen higher and and go to a lesser coaching staff, they might not have the patience or knowledge to help him take his game to the next level, and he'd be labeled as a bust. I just dunno.
I thought you went to all the home games and had contact with some of the staff through your job. I actually had a hard time making my fingers type "Respected". :hihi: :thumb:
just about all of the hoem games since about 2000.... and you thought this because? by your logic, Red is much closer to the program than me.... that's ok, it was a big word for you :hihi:
Just my opinion , but I think Big Baby will be just another in a long line of Tigers who couldnt cut it in the nba .Chris Jackson, John "hot plate "Williams, Ricky Blanton, Ethan Martin,Rudy Macklin,Dewayne Scales ,Greg Cook,Lionel "TREE" Green,Howard "HI C " Carter,Jerry Reynolds,Nikita Wilson, Vernel Singleton,Randy Livingston, and the list goes on and on and on.Our one exception, Shaq.Meanwhile almost every SEC school over the last quarter century have had players who were NBA stars or superstars.Examples Charles Barkley and Chuck Person at Auburn,Robert Horry ,T R Dunn,Latrell Sprewell at alabama ,Dominique Wilkins at Georgia,Ernie Grunfeld and Bernard King at Tennessee and a host of players at Kentucky,Jeff Malone at Mississippi State .Maxwell and Moten from Florida. For all the talk about Dale Brown's recruiting ability, one thing is certain:when his players got to the next level....they couldnt cut it.And just to prove my point.Remember Navy and David Robinson or UTEP when we had Chris Jackson.Utep had a little guard that played Chris Jackson out of his shorts...what was his name?...oh yes ...the NBA rookie of the year Tim Hardaway.
