Why are you so sure Cal is going to win? Are you drinking the media Kool-aid about the PAC 10 consisting of more than one dominant team?
Cal has 16 starters back from last season, including eight on offense. Their junior quarterback, Nate Longshore, threw for 3,021 yards and 24 touchdowns as a sophomore. Longshore has an explosive WR, DeSean Jackson, at his disposal. Jackson had over 1,000 yards receiving in 2006 and also set a Pac-10 record by returning four punts for touchdowns. The Volunteers have some question marks on their defensive line while Cal's defense is led by Butkus Award candidate linebacker Zack Follett. Cal has four players back in its secondary. Tennessee is 2-6-1 all-time in the state of California, where it hasn't played since a 30-24 win at UCLA on Sept. 6, 1997. The Golden Bears went 8-0 at home last year. and I don't think UT has the horses on offense to keep this up. Their defense isn't nearly as good this year either to say that they can come up with a few big drive stoppers against this Cal offense.
Just got back from Cal Tenn game. Those guys thought they won the championship. They were sky high for the game. I have to tell you what happenned. We are sitting in our seats given to us by a Cal Board member and this lady and her husband come and sit to our left. She asks my wife which way we came in and my wife is making small talk a little. She has no idea who she is talking too. So i look at this lady a few times and she is sort of in cognito but i whisper and tell my wife that it is Barbara Boxer sitting next to us . She hits me and tells me that is not Barbara Boxer and laughs at me. Well about 15 minutes later this lady in front of her turns and asks her about Washington or something having to do with politics and my wifes eyes get the size of half dollars and she turns to me and tells me i was right. You have to understand that i despise this woman and my wife adores her. My wife is the liberal Democrat and i am Mr. conservative. I kept messing with my wife asking her to switch places so i could tell Barbara a thing or two. I was giving my wife a hard time the rest of the night that she didnt recognize her and how it took her Republican husband to tell her. But i have to admit she was friendly and my wife made small talk with her throughout the game. Oh and after the game we met the Board member and his wife at their tailgate at the ritzy tailgate area and i am standing their in my LSU jersey and as we are talking the Athletic Director comes up and they introduce her to us and she gives me a hard time about being in my LSU jersey andas were talking i jokingly tell her to schedule a home and home with LSU and come to find out she went to Tulane. I was a little sad that Tenn didnt win but Cal people were fired up for this game. One thing i noticed that Cal did was they separated Tenn tickets into three corners of the stadium. It took some of their combined crowd noise away separating their tickets like that. I hope the Tenn kid that got hurt is ok. It happenned right down in front of us. He didnt move at all and was out for a long time. Great game and without the turnover and punt return would have been a different game. Tenn offensive playcalling was not great. I know Cal was in deep zones most of the game but Tenn didnt even try many midrange passes. 3rd and 13 and they throw a flat pass? I thought Jimbo Fisher was calling their plays. She
Thanks for representing Calco Tiger. I would have found a way to spill my drink all over Boxer. Then I probably would have tried to trip her as she walked by on her way to the restroom. Then, while trying to look like I wanted to help her up, I would have stepped on her. You have to take advantage of the opportunities we are given in life. :thumb:
Another thing that happenned before the game is im standing their in my LSU jersey and this beautifull blond comes up to me with my wife standing there and says she just moved here from Baton Rouge and her boyfriend is a big Cal fan and wouldnt let her wear her LSU stuff but she said she would do something anyway. this girl is slidng the left side of her jeans and panties down to almost her hoohah and showing me and my wife her her LSU tiger head tattoo. Yah gotta love us tiger fans. We stick together. She was happy to see other tiger fans. What a great experience college football is. My wife is giving me a hard time for looking at the Tattoo so to speak !!!
