A ton of quarterbacks would fold after three picks. Not Flynn. He faces adversity with the :tigereye: .
I really like reading the part about the winks and hand signals with Byrd and Doucet. Doucet and Flynn winking at each other on the 4th and 4 play. That's just cool. That's also scarey at times, because you have a feeling that Flynn may try to force something when he shouldn't. Which I think he definitely forced it but it worked great.
I believe that is all part of the necessary learning process on the field; and that applies to all QB's. But, considering everything, Flynn has done remarkably well, and will continue to get better. He is a very smart QB, and will quickly learn from the valuable mistakes. If you really want to blame him, try blaming the fact that he wasn't given much of a chance at game experience during the JR era, when even with a few of the so called easy wins, it took JR a while to secure the wins before the coaches felt comfortable enough to put Flynn late in the game.
The winks and signals remind me of what you see in those classic football movies! Put chills up my spine. I believe Flynn learned from this game in not trying to force something out of nothing. Gary Crowton acknowledged to the press that Flynn tried to do too much at a certain point in the game, and Flynn knows it too.
