THE GOOD Fournette's Herschel-like TD run. "Bug meet windshield". "...like a sparrow hit a semi on the freeway". Innovative play calling from Cameron--Dural's jet sweeps, a pass to the tight end, and read-option plays. Time of possession. LSU 41:13, A&M 18:37. This is what a power running game gives you. Jennings running game took advantage of A&M's weak rushing defense 223 LSU first-half rushing yards to A&M's 5. Defense played excellent, despite losing Hunter early. Shut down the SEC #1 passing offense. Big game for Neighbors, blocking and receiving. Big game for Adams all over the field. Diarse had a hell of a night catching the ball. Much better blocking from the O-line after two bad games for them. Best rushing game for LSU in 17 years. THE BAD LSU still can't get a decent pass rush with four linemen. Uncalled pass interference all game long. Flagrant holding by both teams. These refs were poor. Collins' personal foul was foolish and he later got caught holding, too. THE UGLY Delahoussay's third missed field goal in a row. A&M's first TD. Short field after a Jennings interception, then a huge run right up the middle where Beckwith should have been.
The bad... Game was in question till the final minutes despite total domination, per the norm under Miles. Credit to our passing D and the rest, but this was not a good a&m team.
While I agree with some of the 'innovative' jet sweeps, I still found some of the play calling curious. Seems like we refuse to commit to LF after he busts a big run late in the game.
Don't really wanna kill him his freshman year. Prob won't next year either. This is running back by committee.
Miles can't kick the field goals for them. The game being in question is not on Miles. The players have to perform.
