Uh, no. It is cuz they are purple. Plus people get them confused with the school in Natchitoches.

The eyes of the country were squarely focused on Michigan State's trip to Oregon, but the Spartans — the team thought to be the conference's best shot at a spot in the College Football Playoff — blew a second-half lead and were overwhelmed by the Ducks in an eventual 46-27 loss.

If you thought Ohio State was bad, Michigan was worse. The Wolverines were shut out 31-0 in South Bend by Notre Dame as Devin Gardner threw three picks and lost a fumble.

It doesn't end there. Northwestern and Purdue both were handily beaten at home by two MAC opponents. After looking awful in Week 1, the Wildcats again struggled and were disposed of by Northern Illinois, 23-15 while perennial conference doormat Purdue got crushed by Central Michigan, 38-17.

Look at Tx, a BYU loss last year is what got the DC fired, what does it get this year, nothing but the sides back at each other, you have the Mack side, the side that almost got saban, the side that wanted Strong and the side that don't know what they want. Another program, with much of their problems off the field. They were the big dog on the block, a&m, Baylor, etc, have pushed them to the side. Remember, Long Horn Network, top ranked recruiting classes, too much money, top ranking every year. How the mighty have fallen. If a team has a great or very good coach, they will do everything in their power to keep him right now, teams can drop real fast, an take years to recover

If anyone thought Strong could turn Texas around before even getting his own recruiting class in there, they were stupid. Strong has to work hard on changing the culture of Texas, which is what Mack fucked up. Even if Strong wasn't the guy for the job, no way Saban comes in and makes them a winner his first year either without massive cheating.

UT has finished well in recruiting over the years. Mack had his pick of around 400 kids every year, like I said, they were the big dog. Strongs winning % is above 69, as a HC. Like I said, UT has talent, lots of it. Mack got the 4 and 5 star players in the state, got Shiro Davis from La. For years, Mack signed some of the best in the state.

An why would you say saban would have to cheat, it's not like he's doing this now at ba....er, wait, nevermind.

You can't really fault Michigan State for going out to Oregon and losing. They fought hard. Them and Wisconsin, and Iowa are your best teams in the conference but the Wisconsin loss to LSU, the MSU loss to Oregon, the Michigan rout by Notre Dame, and the Ohio State loss to VA Tech really hurt that conference's chances to get a team in at the end. That's supposedly your big boys and they all got beat by other conferences upper echelon.
