Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it reportes that he had hired an agent, and if that is done, by NCAA rules then they player must go ahead and turn pro. I'm not 100% on this but I though that that was the rule.

IF he had signed with an agent, you are correct, he would lose his eligibility. I just read an article in the Mobile paper that said they are still looking at a list of potential agents and nothing was final:

Ray-Ray Russell, a radio talk show host in Mobile, said Sunday that Russell has not and will not sign with Metz, who recently signed LSU wide receiver Dwayne Bowe as a client.

"We haven't signed with an agent, I can tell you that," Ray-Ray Russell said, adding that Russell's mother, Zina Anderson, has a list of possible agents at her disposal though she and the family have yet to formally interview any prospective representatives.
