You've been looking to generate traffic? Well, there's a certain individual in the mold of Tomm who decided to leave another forum and go to "free LSU boards"

I bet that means this one! Prepare for the fur to fly!!! :D

    Hmmm.... is this about me?

If so, I resent that "in the mold of Tomm" business. :)

I might go back there one day, who knows... Heaven knows I like that place...

My problem there is that I treated it as a debate board, silly me, and had the nerve to broach a sacrosanct topic.

My discussions usually went like this...

Rex> Religion is bad for society because blah blah blah

Sniveller> You hate Christians, you bigoted asshole.

Rex> I don't hate Christians, I hate Christianity. Can you see the difference?

Sniveller> You are a lying asshole.

Rex> You're the asshole who can't tolerate differences of opinion.

And so it went, over and over again....

No matter how much support I gave to an issue, no matter how many times I reassured them, I couldn't convince them that I don't hate them. When I tried to support an argument with reasoned opinion or historical support, I got accused of trying to act superior.

So I guess you might say I got tired of being unloved. Haha.

Now, not that that won't happen here, of course... :D But my plan is to make less posts wherever, anyway.

What do you expect when you consistently question the intelllect and lucidity of people with FAITH. What do you expect when you make comments like "go kill your children, so that you might send them to paradise as quickly as possible."?

It was your obnoxious megalomania that prevented debate, oh omniscient one!!!

    Just another typical slander.

I was responding to some clod who told me to put a gun to my head to blow my brains out, to prove there is or isn't a God.

You see, such an action does not comport with what I'd want ANYBODY to do, and killing someone's children is not what I'd want anybody to do either, but I was employing sarcasm in an attempt to show him how ludicrous and repugnant his proposition was.

Of course, I'm not surprised that you left those details out.

The response was as uncalled for as the original remark....

Are people with religious faith less intelligent(Or at least guilty of using less of their intellect) than an atheist?

    Guys.

Obviously a board for political discussions will get heated. That's fine.

    BUT....

No name calling or any other personal attacks. I've seen other boards that allow this and there is nothing constructive about them.

Please stick to issues only and do your best to back them up with a respectful, reason based argument.

Like any civil House of Debate, there must be rules of decorum. Think of it as the Senate floor (or any other venue you respect). If you wouldn't say it there, don't say it here.

    Thanks,
