Alaman has supposed inside contacts in the LSU AD and supposedly loves LSU and then makes posts like the one he has on this thread saying that Skip will go down with Dean as the worse AD's in LSU history. Of course 90% of the info he posts turns out to be false like others with supposed inside contacts. Twist the facts in order to make your points look good why don't you. Skip didn't force Saban out the door. Del Rio's agent pissed off Del Rio, not Skip; He failed to contact the Jags ownership and make sure the meeting was above board. As far the track situation is concerned, there was nothing Skip could do to compete with aTm for Henry. The Aggies are throwing dollars at their athletics programs that LSU just can't do, especially in track. But don't let any of the truth get in the way of a good story.
Back to the original topic, I say we kick Bertman out too...he has been here way too long....has never really done anything for LSU nor gotten the job done football wise with SEC Titles or National Championships
Skip was a stop gap measure when Barnhardt of Oregon State (at that time) was allegedly Emmert's choice...When the BOS-with Dean throwing some last second kicks to the groin in as well about "someone who knows the culture"-rose up to oppose the fact they had no sayso in the matter, Emmert wanted to try to put in place a progressive who would help him remake the Athletic Department. He needed someone that the BOS absolutely couldn't, no...wouldn't say anything to...and who anywhere in the state would have rose up to get negative about Skip Bertman being named Athletic Director... Make no mistake, he was not the best, nor the right choice for the job, and with Emmert's departure (Thanks to Kathleen Blanco's cuts to higher education...err...LSU), Bertman has been a mouthpiece with no real lung capacity blowing in...He has a good head on his shoulders, and is great with Marketing and working hard and schmoozing... But, the season basketball tickets, the Oak tree idiocy ticket price increase, the power grab under the temporary guise of the "Tiger Transit" bus parking lot in order to rape longtime parking lot pass holders of prime territory, the continued allowance of Brady as head coach, and probably the single BIGGEST fiasco (and probably Emmert's only misstep as Chancellor), the TAF Tiger Stadium Ticket Tempest...They all point to Bertman's mismanagement... Nevermind me throwing in ridiculous comments he was making on TV about fan behavior back in the day when it was obvious only a minority of the 120K plus on gamedays on campus were at fault...Or better yet, during the miniature academic scandal at LSU, he went on TV half cocked talking about the alleged whistleblower to local TV stations talking about specifics of the case and of the individual...Opening the football team, the LSU AD, himself, and the very institution of LSU to massive legal liability... Bertman presided as a yes man for Mark Emmert during the Golden Age of Modern History for LSU as a University...as well as its Athletic Department... Don't be fooled...Bertman wasn't the mastermind, he was a figurehead put in place by the real brains...Former Chancellor Mark Emmert...
