Congrats on the 21 thing... hopefully you were able to get in plenty of practice before it became official.

I didn't see the Mich/Texas game "live" 'cuz I was drinking myself silly in Orlando after the CapOne. However, I did see it on instant classic later and I thought it was two very talented teams scoring at will on each other. Now, USC, they can make a lot of teams look slow... we know first hand. Reggie Bush should be illegal.

I come to this forum from time to time to get myself updated on the SEC. The posters here are quite good. I was also very impressed with the LSU fans we met before and after the game. My wife still communicates with an LSU "girlfriend" she met when a bunch of LSU boosters invited us up to their suite for a final, final, final, final on New Year's eve. We all got to bed at 4 am. What a great memory with great football fans.

Yea, I had several years of drinking practice (I do live in Louisiana), I was just really enjoying being able to buy with no-chance of being turned down or getting in trouble with a fake ID.

I don't usually drink too much for games tho, because since 2003 it seemed that every game I'm wasted for was either close or LSU lost, and everytime I'm completely sober we blow teams out, so I kind of hold myself responsible for the Iowa loss.

As far as the Michigan-UT game, I was mostly refering to the way Vince Young ran where-ever he wanted against the Mich D where-as most Big-12 teams at least somewhat contained him.

Yep, with all that talent at Michigan (and they are very talented), one has to wonder how Lloyd Carr keeps his job. The longer he has to study film, the worse he gets. It's amazing... even his record after regular season bye-weeks sucks.

Michigan at #13 and Pittsburgh at #21 should not have been in BCS bowl games.

Both Texas and Utah lucked out to some degree.

Yes, probably Cal and Louisville deserved it more. However, we live with Wishagain every day... beat 'em in 2002 and 2003 and were still ranked behind them in the following week's poll.
    They're "special".... just ask 'em.

fast linebackers doesnt mean anything if they cant cover anyone.

Spread is over blown, a good Cover 2 D can stop it.

The spread offense is beat by great defensive strategy and very athletic defensive players. Mike Leech runs the best spread offense in the country at Texas Tech. He used to run it at OU when he was there. He hasn't had any success against OU, but mediocre teams and a few talented teams have failed to stop his spread offense.

Good point Peabody. I think the thing that gives TT an advantage is how few teams run this offense, and how it's such a new look for most teams they play.

Plus, it's tough to isolate the bizarre homefield advantage of playing in Lubbock.

Comparing Urban Meyer's spread O to Texas Tech's spread O is a stretch by any means... Meyer's spread stresses the run game. Last year, for example, the Utah spread ran 494 times and passed 307. Mike Leach passed 651 times and ran 293. Utah spreads you out to run and Leach spreads you out to pass. Two completely different approaches to the same offensive look.

In the AP Iowa was ranked above Michigan after both losses.
