Wow, I thought WR blocking was great last night. Especially Randle. The secondary wasn't that much of a factor in the running game. We gashed them, but State did a good job of preventing the big runs that require great downfield blocking. That rover for MSU, #10, not sure if he's a LB or a safety, was everywhere last night.

I see it this way: The only way we lose this game is to give it away. The coaches are not going to let that happen. When we need to open it up, we will, but in the meantime let Lee gain experience, work on timing and reads and get real comfortable back there. Patience is a virtue.

It was ashame Lee lost his streak on that interception. Total miscommunication, as well as a questionable play call given the game situation.

I understand the griping about the playcalling, but the truth is while we could have won 31-6 if we opened it up more, we still could have lost with three and outs or with a turnover.

There was no way we were going to lose while grinding it out. MSU did not have time to establish a running game which gave them a 0% chance to move consistently on offense.

I kind of agree but also think that mentality has cost us a few games in the Miles tenure. It can be a fine line. Remember that 7-3 loss at Auburn with J. Russell? We played overly conservative that game when we could've put 24+ pts on the board with a more aggressive approach. Hopefully Lee's performance last night in a hostile environment gives the coaching staff confidence that we can continue to take more chances in the passing game.

Overall, I love what I see with the offense and play calling. We have an identity now and also balance.

I couldn't agree more. Once they let Lee start passing regularly, he did what he needed to do and it helped our run game. It's looking like our offense is capable of doing just about anything we need.

That was then and that game was later in the season, wasn't it?

We must have watched a different game. There was a play were Odell lined up right behind randle and they did a quick throw to him. Randle's guy ran right through him and tackled OB for no gain. There was another instance where someone was juking a man behind Randle while he blocked and the defender got off the block and tackled the runner. I just don't think Randle is aggressive enough when he blocks. drive your guy to the end zone if you have to but don't let him off until the whistle blows.
