I moved from Kirbysmith to ECA in 2001. Graduated in 2004. I dont think it has been renovated since. They added new elevators while I was there, and that was about it. Supposedly the elevators had cameras. But it really was a crappy dorm. But whats a good freshman experience without a crappy dorm, where you could sneak girls in with ease. elevator was right next to the backdoor. I just rememeber during my Freshman year in 1999, I was able to sit in my 12th floor dorm, and watch the games on the big screen, from my window. Then the next year they added an upper deck. Totally blocking the Jumbo screen. :sob:
How about I had to carry all of my belongings (TV's, clothes, stereo, chest, etc... etc...) up 12 flights of stairs the first day Freshman year because the line for the elevator was wrapped around the building. And was finished before most people who had been waiting on the elevator for at least an hour. Lived there for a 1 1/2 years. And met some of my best friends there. Loved every minute of it. Kirby Smith was a dump, but at the same time, it was a great place to live. Plus the 12th floor was where the SUITES were. How funny is that. SUITES :hihi:
I lived there for one year. And like you, I had to carry everything I owned up the stairs because their were too many people at the elevators. I also could talk about the fact that we had some funny guy pull the fire alarm 3 times a week. I literally still have nightmares from that.
