I have to agree with you. I was downright bored with the CBS announcers attempts to make the Razorbacks the only team in the game worth being there. The funniest lame comment to me was when they announced the "Super Smart Decision" the punt returner made in heavy traffic, getting his butt plastered by about five LSU defenders. He was lucky to hang on to the ball. Super LUCKY, it's true But dumb as a board decision to do it! Another was when they announced that this was the first time that LSU has ever faced 4 top ten teams on the road in the same season. He failed to mention that this was the first time any team has done it in the history of collegate football! We ended up 2 - 2 on the road, proving that LSU can win THE BIGS ONES ON THE ROAD, and also proving who the best team in the west really is. Taint the HOGS. Not this year.
I think that's the best explanation, until the very end, when they realized just how great McFadden is. Almost a direct quote of what I said to my wife at that point! :thumb: No doubt about it. What a rare talent. The guy is a joy to watch in any other game.
You're kidding, right? I heard nothig but respect for us. In fact, I made a comment to my brother on how it's so nice to be viewed as the most talented team in the SEC.
Lundquist needs to retire, and I'm all for color commentary, but when you say "and now a raining plethera of yellow handkerchiefs" it adds a little too much, don't ya think?
When they said how much talent we had all they were doing is critisizing our coaches saying that they couldnt use that talent to beat 2 top 10 teams on the road and of coarse didnt mention that one of the games was taken from us by the horrible SEC refs.
The worst announcers I've heard for an LSU game was Comcast's for the LSU-Ole Miss game. My dad and I got tired of hearing them after the first touchdown. We put it on mute and got out the Bose radio. I forget who the voice of LSU is, but he is my favorite (along with Gary Thorn).
Danielson hit it right on the head when he said LSU starting passing the ball too late in the Auburn game. They then showed the questionable holding call on the TD in the Florida game, then the "almost" TD by Hester with his elbow hitting just before. Then the fumble. They were right on in showing how DAMN close this team was to running the table. They did an excellent job in explaining and showing how close we came. And to question the coaches about the Auburn game was obvious then and even more obvious now. How in the hell does Trindon Holliday not get on the field for either the Auburn and Florida games, not to mention Keiland Williams and Charles Scott?. And please, no more bullshyt about him not knowing the playbook or whatever crap you want to spew. It was a coaching philosophy mistake not to put your best people out there early in the season, just because they were freshman.
