So would you be happy with James Franklin ? He posted 2 9 win season at Vandy and was on track to be a real contender in the east if he woulda stayed .

Can you show me the post where I said anything about Franklin?

Miles is not a defensive coach. He is an offensive coach that isn't very good at offense. He appreciates good defense and wants to have a defensive minded team, but that isn't the same thing.

Didn't Schiano flake out? I had the feeling he wasn't ready for the big stage.

EDIT: Doesn't sound too bad on Wikipedia. Didn't cut it in the NFL.

I thought Miles was an Oline/offensive guy- on paper, anyway.

Why is anybody even bringing up names like Schiano and Fedora? Are you ready to set the bar that low so soon? There are only 2 realistic acceptable names. Aleva should pick one and do whatever it takes to make it happen.

I can only think of one, all the others mentioned are about equal.

For some reason a lot of people don't want Jimbo but for me he is a close second to Herman

I agree. If not those two, might as well make a wild gamble on a young, unproven coach that has big potential. None of the other usual suspects inspire me.
