1. Exactly my point, thanks for putting it better then I did! :)

John, the team hasn't been playing together in awhile, just because they had fights and drinks together didn't make them a team. It was and is not stressing one individual having a stellar night, because yours will come, it is not worrying about when you are getting pt because you are part of the success whether you were on the field or not. Not saying that lsu or any other teams players don't think about that but it is not what the strive for.

Shannon is putting an end to that philosophy. Other things he did at the same time: kids aren't allowed to have the gold teeth, caps have to be facing straight forward, etc. He has and is doing a good job at getting these kids to beliebe in a system and order. This will go far in the future with eith shannon or whomever takes his place.

Dang you john, somehow you have me defending a team that I hate only second to uscw. How the hell did that happen?
  2. Edit: strive was the wrong word, of course they all strive for it but some are willing to let somebody else have the spotlight when needed.
  3. Miami sux now. To me, they've been a joke ever since LSU beat the living crap out of them in the Peach Bowl. I'd really like to believe that LSU is what ruined Miami.

As for the rules on gold teeth, caps, stuff like that... I like that stuff as well. I remember avidly supporting a college football coach for not even allowing his players to wrap tape around their own cleats because it wasn't conservative enough. Same thing with shaded visors, hair coming out the back of the helmet, stuff like that. Last year, I look at Oregon and their weirdo uniforms and they bother me.

But I still don't think RP should be kicked of LSU's team, even if he was 3rd-string and would never contribute in any significant way.
  4. I forget recent history as much as anyone, but I would like to remind everybody that it was a Les Miles-coached LSU football team that blew Miami out of the water, not a Nick Saban-coached LSU football team (like the one that lost to Iowa and UAB and got smashed by Texas).
  5. How did you not know Irvin went to Miami? He spews his love for "The U" every chance he gets.

The Ray Lewis thing happened right after a Super Bowl. I don't think he was "involved" in the murder, but was there, and knew the guy that did it.

Shaun Taylor, (that K was a typo by me). He was a starting Saefty with the Redskins who was shot and killed in his home during this past season.

The brawl may have been FAU, not 100% on that one.

The one with Louisville didn't erupt into a full out brawl. They went into Louisville's stadium and pounced around on their midfield logo before the game yealling and taunting UL's players. A shoving match insued, but not a full fledged fight.

The Brawl with LSU happened in LSU's tunnel (the two teams have separate tunnels at the Georgia Dome), so that kinda sounds like they went looking for it.
  6. John that is more than just recent history. Not remembering at least one of those you must have been under a rock. You couldn't turn on the news, EPSN, or a football game without hearing about Taylor for weeks.

    BTW, It was FIU.
