Although Russell will likely be the starter, I think Guilbleaux hit the nail in his own head.

so are you a fan? you certainly don't know squat.... lol and you actually fit in with the "most" category.

Guilbeau doesn't know who will start, neither does Miles. I bet they try out. wow you think?

Miles does know who will start. That's my whole point. And I agree. As a fan, I don't know squat about what goes into personnel decisions. I do know this, though. Had JR not gotten hurt, he would have started the Peach Bowl. When he recovers he will move back into the starting role. I'd be willing to entertain wagers from anyone foolish enough to think otherwise.

JR does have the upper hand in the QB race but Miles will start the player that gives the team the best chance to win. While JR showed huge potential he has a long way to go to be a polished and complete QB. Add to that the fact that MF has talent and has shown his ability to lead plus enter super redshirt Perrilloux and I think the race is anything but decided already. Yes JR is the safe bet to end up on top by gameday but it wouldn't shock me if either of the other two were able to step up and earn the starting nod. Anyone that argues at this point that one will definitely start over the others is clueless(see Sabanfan).

Well, supposedly, the race was practically a dead heat last year. I would think that if that were the case this year that Flynn would have be at an advantage since it is impossible to replicate REAL gametime situations in practice.

Don't get me wrong, While I think JR had a real good season I think his play no where matched his ability and he has enough time in the system and playing time against SEC competition that the time should be now. However it hasn't happened yet and he has two very good and highly talented QB's on his tail. I'm also a big believer in Flynn and feel that he also has the ability to be a great QB with the more time in the system like Russell and big time play in a big time game after almost no PT all season. Perrilloux looked as good or better than Vince young coming out of High School and that didn't turn out too bad. With Russell being banged up and missing a lot of off season work I see it as a wide open race with a slight JR lead before they even shoot the starting gun, but with the potential off all three anything can happen in the time between the last game played and the first game the next season. There is more football work done in the offseason these days than there is during the season so we'll see. I wouldn't put money on either of the three and as an LSU fan and a fan of football I like it that way. There is no way one of them can take the offseason lighly or not work hard at improving and expect to lead this team next year so we fans should be a winner in the end. It should be fun and exiting for the players and the fans and I look forward to it.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
