Wow, another horrible halftime performance by the LSU band. I was bored to death once LSU came out and played Earth Wind and Fire. At least Auburn played some tunes i had heard of...

Halftime is to piss, fix another drink, and/or grab a dog. What kind of loser sits, watches and grades the bands?
I thought halftime was designed to have a trombone player from LSU whack a kicker from Auburn. Anybody remember Damon Duvall getting his butt kicked by a trombone player?
I like the Golden Band. The only band I have ever seen in Tiger stadium that was more entertaining than they were, was the Aggies. That close marching is impressive.
Obviously you've never been in a marching band. It is incredibly hard work, and at LSU, as with other college bands, it is probably one where auditions determine who plays on a weekly basis. A member can't give less than his or her best if they expect to play on Saturday. There are intricate formations to march, weekly music to memorize--all while marching, playing in tune, on the correct beat in front of thousands of people. Perhaps you should stay and appreciate those people who not only entertain, but play after EVERY SINGLE DOWN, while LSU has the ball, the entire game. Try to imagine what the games would be like without the band there. No one to play after they make a first down (with the crowd cheering the letters, "LSU") or the other downs with the hand motions and arms waving. It would be a great game, but not as much of an experience without the band. As far as the music is concerned, I know the tunes that are played are older tunes. The current music played on the radio is unrecognizable because Rock bands nowadays come and go so quickly. The music from the 60's, 70's, and 80's was simpler and more easily adaptable and arranged. Next time you're at a high school game, sit and watch and see how many people come to the game, and leave after the band plays. They're the "losers" as you stated, who pay for their kid's lessons, and wait for their kids after practices. They're the parents, proud of their kids. If their kids progress to the level of a member of the Golden Band from Tigerland, you can bet the parents will be bursting with pride. Ever heard the phrase, "Walk a mile in my shoes'? Try it before you call band people or those who enjoy watching the efforts of hard working committed musicians, "losers".
And those Aggies cheerleaders! Some of the sexiest...oh, wait! Strike that! Sorry, I became confused for a moment! LOL! I'd stack one Golden Girl against the entire assemblage of Aggie sideline promoters. Which would your average viewer rather OGLE?
Holy Cow! I didn't mean it as anti-band but if you want to go there I'll just say that people go football games to see football, not concerts. I agree that they add A LOT to the game, while it's being played but that's not the case at halftime.
