You're going to roll your eyes at this ... but crazy s*%& happens. I'm too lazy to look it up now, but how did we look three games out from the end of the 2003 season? We just need to win out and win the SECCG and the rest takes care of itself. :thumb:

I read someplace the BCS can make a matchup overriding the conference tie ins if "it is in the better interest of the game". lets say LSU, Miami, Penn St, and ND win out....would it not be in the better interest of the BCS for ND and Penn St to play in the Fiesta and LSU/Miami in the Orange? Let WVA and some other team like TCU play in the Sugar bowl in Georgia.......

I finally figured it out......Penn State was behind Georgia in some of these voters rankings, so Penn State gained 2 spots instead of just 1 in those cases.

Well at least it aint a conspiracy.

you're exactly right, I posted this in another thread

we were in almost the exact same situation in 2003, one team after the other losing to make way for LSU to be camped out at the #3 spot going into the SEC CG.....

Ohio State being the last team to accomodate us with a loss (to Michigan I believe).

The big difference is we didn't need a loss by either USC or OU to get into the top 2 in the BCS, but this time around we will need at least 2 teams to lose in order for us to get there.

    2 words...Fresno State

They are 5th in scoring offense and 17th in total defense...Will be USC's toughest test all year. FSU pulls the upset!

Fresno State is crazy enough to do something stupid like beating USC, but I just don't see it happening, and the talking heads have already started saying that USC is in the Rose Bowl even with one loss.

One things for sure, this will be their Super Bowl. They feel about USC like Louisiana Tech, Tulane, and ULL feel about LSU. They would give anything to knock of USC. Knowing that, and how they perform in all of there other games against BCS teams, I'd give them at least an outside chance to pull it off. I'll be rooting like hell for it, I know that.
