My only fear is that he is not even contacted because he is Chinese American and I'm not sure how he'd be received here. I'd love to think it wouldn't matter to fans, but I'm not that stupid. However, if we gave him a shot, it would not be long before all fans see are his wins.
Pete Carrol would earn his money next year if Chow left. Losing Ogeron and Chow the same year would hurt. That is unless he hires Muschamp and Fisher from LSU.
I don't think being Chinese-American would affect most fans. Now if we hired Romeo Crennell, I fear that alot of fans would not be so understanding. I think that the race issue might be a reason for him not to look to the SEC also. But I think Chow would be well recieved by 99% of LSU fans ... especially those that know his record. There are always those who bring up the race issue, and those who didn't like Saban b/c he was a yankee, but they are just dumb.
I think he'd keep them both, if they wanted to stay. He's got a very long record of adapting his offense to the players. Our players were recruited for Jimbo's system, and I have no doubt Norm would be right at home in Jimbo's offense (or any other for that matter). He's seen it all, and probably coached and taught it all. For continuity sake, I think he'd keep Jimbo on and just tweak it a bit. Who knows, he may be soul mates with Jimbo and love his playbook - and let him open it up more!
We can only wish ... seems like it could be a deadly combination.. Norm's Offense tweaked into Jimbo's system with Muschamps Saban-like Defense... scary to think about....
I must admit if LSU hired or even thought about interviewing Fran I may re-consider my TAF membership and Season Tickets. Fran represents all that is unholy and wrong. There is no man I cannot stand more then him in College football including Pete of USC
Francione is a little cocky for my taste, but the guy wins ball games... I do have a bad taste in my mouth from the '02 game where he shut us out and then got all pissy at mid field with Saban over something he didn't say but.... If we are looking for winners and big names...
