Les Miles could have coached here for as long as he wanted. All he had to do was quit running the prevent offense. He dug his own grave.
What you're conveniently leaving out is this - they're not hiring him on what he's done so far. It's based on what happens from here on out. If goes 2-2 with a loss to Bama, he ain't getting the gig. If he wins out, including the SECCG, which again, is highly unlikely, then what will you say? Does he deserve it at that point?
You're looking at this through the glasses of a jilted lover. After last season, the writing was on the wall. Either improve the offense or you're gone. What did Miles do? He stuck with an inept Brandon Harris through an embarrassing 2 pt. loss to a nobody Wiscy. Then trots out Etling and again runs a boring ass I formation power run offense at auburn and shits the bed with almost zero offensive production. He's now gone, due to his own stubbornness, apparently mr. bobble head didn't really give a shit, as he went out on his terms. The Bo Power I. Now the LSU offense is running screens, crossing routes, throwing the forward pass to TE's, and doing what's necessary to spread out the defense and run for 300+ yrds a game. Not sure about you, but LSU offense is fun to watch again. We're moving the damn ball, we're gaining 1st downs, and we're scoring points. Had Miles gotten with the program, realized the game of football has evolved and done what he needed to do to evolve with it (ala Saban), he'd still be the HC at LSU. Unfortunately he isn't, and now you're scorned. We get it. Now get over it and enjoy some LSU football.
Miles ran out the same worn out offense in the beginning of this season that lost us 3 straight games last year. When you see the pattern isn't going to change, you cut off the snakes head.
Tell me again how many times we threw to the TE while miles was here? Bet you can count them on 1 hand
