Take time and read his resume. Playcalling? You don't do what he did inn the NFL with bad playcalling. The thing with Cam, he uses everyone in the offense, sets up a defense, etc. You look at the Super Bowl, they won it with his offense. Hes coached/developed QB's, RB's and WR's, not many can claim this. Another thing not many, if any can claim. He played football and basketball at Indiana University under coaches Lee Corso and Bobby Knight, respectively, until a knee injury ended his playing career.
A little more......... http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/24/s...s-fired-him-cam-cameron-understands.html?_r=0
Drew Brees on Cam: What did he mean to your career? “He was huge. Cam was huge in my career. ... I love the man. I think he’s a great coach and obviously I had a lot of great years with him.” http://www.neworleanssaints.com/new...k-Ravens/2f345562-c4f8-4bf6-a11b-00a431402678
And their QB went from Tony Romo to Joe Montana. Cam does have an impressive resume, but Im not convinced he would be a great hire. Maybe, maybe not, but Id rather see Miles roll the dice with Cam than see him stand pat with a losing hand.
Primitive or not most of 2011 season was exilarating with Stud/Les making the calls & helping to organize special teams play. My bottom line is winning vs losing.
Not to mention the fact that we're currently built to run the kind of offense we've been running. We need a guy to come in and maintain the current smashmouth, run-first, possession football mentality. That style works, and it wins championships. We just need a better strategist to put together a plan of attack and make decisions on the fly.
