BATON ROUGE - LSU quarterback Andrew Hatch, who started the first three games of the 2008 season, is leaving LSU and may transfer back to Harvard, LSU coach Les Miles confirmed on Tuesday.

"Andrew Hatch will not be back," Miles said. "I have not spoken with him. What I've heard and the speculation is that he may return to Harvard."

    Wish him the BOL.

Glad he could be a Tiger for the time he was.

Well as proud as I am about being from LSU. Lets be honest he wont play in the NFL, so football is not a future for him.
So he either gets a degree for Harvard, plays some ball or rides the pine and graduates from LSU.
AGAIN NOT SLAMMING LSU, its a great institution but getting a Degree from Harvard and have it possibly paid for by playing Ivy League football is a no brainer.......

Agreed, the guy was caught in the middle of an awkward situation at QB so for the sake of his own future, football or otherwise, this is a smart move. He was tough and played like a Tiger, my best wishes go out to him.

I wonder how Hatch's credits earned at LSU will transfer to Harvard? He may need an extra year at Harvard to graduate. I'd be interested to see.

I think LSU will try at all costs to redshirt him in order to stagger the QBs properly.

We would have a Sophomore, true freshman and redshirt freshman. Can't ask for better staggering.

My gut says Lee will transfer by the time Spring football ends. That will make it a lot more difficult to keep the shirt on Garrett.

LMAO, it depends on what he's going for, really. I mean Harvard is just a name on a piece of paper. LSU is just as good (and possibly better) in some areas. Now if the dude is going into law or wants to be a doctor, I'd understand.

Unfortunately, there are no football schollys at Harvard. It will be on somebody's dime, unless he has an academic scholly. That would have been a great opportunity, though.

Yeah, I think you're right about that. He can get loans but I went to a private school for grad school and I'm still paying off those suckers. :rolleye33:

I'm actually disappointed in this decision. I had "Harvard" Hatch backing up "George" Jefferson mostly because I think he could come into the odd game and settle the team down. That would put "Bluebell" Lee in a solid third position and let "The Good" Sheppard marinate in a red shirt for a year unless tragedy struck and then we could take the shirt off of him. I thought it was a foregone conclusion that "I Can't Think of Another Nickname" Garrett would redshirt.

At any rate, best of luck to Hatch from me too. Doesn't matter if he wears another school's color; he'll always be a Tiger to me. :geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige
