i have to admit i hadnt read yours. however, now i read it and i approve. yunno one of the few things that sort of really irritates me is when people start accusing others of racism. 99% of the time the person doing the accusing is looking to win "i am a good person" points. that is pretty annoying. if people want to be racist, so what? if your company hired based on race, i say good for me, that leaves the talen pool deeper for me to hire. if the government hires based on race, that it bad because i expect them to hire based o0n merit and not race. but i have no problem with racism in private industry. in fact i encourage people to speak their mind, and if they stupidly hate blacks or whoever, at least they are honest about being stupid. racism is only ignorance, it is not evil like many people will have you believe. now lets forget about this and listen to the basketball game!
Please, TE. I said it first. You basically said the same thing only you left out a Journalism 101 component: brevity.
Excuse me, I can't agree with you without having to cite my agreement with you first? Get off your high horse, Cha-chi... It could be possible that I began reading the thread before your post was even up, and only started typing after you had already hit "submit"...But don't let that theory get in the way of your delusions of granduer, or my attempt to make a silly joke on an internet forum. What really made me respond is thinking back to a International Organization & Non-Governmental Organization class I took (POLI 4042, I believe) that talked about how those entities derived their power. It's all from concessions of sovreignty from nation states and MNC's, IO's, and other NGO's...Without the concession of sovreignty, then their power is only a myth...or smoke & mirrors, if you will... Much like the BCA's wishes, they operate much like an IO or NGO...IE-They want Athletic Departments and decision makers within those departments to concede power, and in effect, their sovreignty as autonomous decision making bodies to make decisions and take recommendations friendly to the BCA itself. Their power-or their dream of power-is like the way the moon shines at night. It can get really bright, really clear, and shine to its heart's content. But it will always be hopelessly tied to the sun. Without it, we could scarcely see the moon. The BCA wants to take the power of the AD's it wants to influence and wield it to show the public it is powerful and it has influence. It's ridiculous. It's also ridiculous that I'd have to preface my preceeding statement by prefacing it with the impetus behind my original thought.
let me give you a little advice on writing, dude. (do as i say, not as i do, i realize i do not capitalize or follow many rules of structure) reduce all your posts in length by 50%. stop using so damn many ellipses..... you should have learned to spell sovereignty in your class with dr mokeba on ngos
well, thats 3 in a row posts by peeps who had that guy. i liked him ok. my favorite was dr mulcahy. i guess i have steered this thread off topic.
His hats and his lamentations over the Cameroonian (Check that one for me, mr. irony, I mean, martin ;-) soccer team were funny... He also massaged over a very liberal viewpoint in such a way as to actually make a very, very conservative young guy realize that he wasn't quite ready to change his status from Registered Independent to Republican... I did get a kick out of a summer semester class I had with him where he blamed the recession on Bush, after Bush had been in office for all of 100 days...But, all in all, was a fresh and stark contrast from some of the guys over there like Campomenosi (spellcheck again for me, marty-baby!) and Clarke...
dude you arent listening to my lessons! you still end every couple sentences with "....." my no-caps style is charming. your end all statements with ellipses is just weird. pretend you are me, and you will be entertaining. i actually like to play fifa soccer on gamecube and occasionallly be cameroon because it reminds me of college and dr mokeba.
