Hornets fans adopted the moniker the Joklahoman because of the incredibly biased sports reporting that took place favoring a relocation of the Hornets from New Orleans to Oklahoma City. It was pretty awful journalism, and it looks like Carlson did the same.

It's one thing to do this sort of piece on a professional athlete who isn't performing on the field at their job, but this is a student-athlete whom by all accounts is a kid who isn't getting into any trouble and just wasn't playing well. Why the venomous shots at his character were taken, I don't know. She could have gotten her point across (that he isn't up to the task at hand) without the ridicule, which is the saddest part of all. Just my two cents.

yeah, and for the record, i would let my mom feed me chicken. i don't really know why that was such a big deal and one of the sticking points in her article.
    she either...

    1) didn't really hve that good of a relationship with her mom

    or

    2) overcompensated for the fact that she's woman by trying to act overly macho by saying someone's mom feeding them chicken is a sign of weakeness.

c'mon, lady if it's two things football players love, it's chicken and their momma.

I agree and I wonder if she has any kids. I liked what Gundy said about that and agree. People who have kids definitely see the world differently. I think of that anytime I hear fans publicly bagging on a player- even when they make bad choices. No program wants "Thugs" but people make mistakes, no need to say more than, "C-ya".

I liked him taking up for his player and maybe it will call attn. to it.

    Is Gundy's kid fat?

<---- Wishes a lot of writers could be taken to task but they hide behind the first amendment rather than being required to report the facts.

    Didn't read the article.

    Watched the video.

Lot of respect for him for taking up for his guy.

Disagree with him in one aspect. These guys are athletes. A lot of people spend a lot of hard earned money on these sports in many many ways. A writer has every right to print the truth, even if it means beating a player down for not getting it done. The fans all have the right to complain and make their voices heard when things go wrong.

It is part of the game. Without the fans, there is no game, no money, and no reason for a coach to have to stand up for his guy like Gundy did.

If what she wrote was factually incorrect, shame on her. If what she wrote was opinionated and he just didn't like it, good for her.

This is one of those cases where right or wrong you gotta appreciate the coach, but as long as she didn't report inaccuate information, and it was opinion only, you gotta respect her for doing her job as well.

Like I said I didn't read the article, it doesn't really matter for my point of view.

To be honest, it sounds like she's auditioning for a job with ESPN.

oh, god! i just almost lost my dinner reading that.

btw, there was applause after gundy's outburst. i hope it was for what he said. i would like to see what the tulsa world has to say about it since the spinless wonder sports editor of the oklahoman is standing behind carlson.
