See Nebraska. I don't think the fans wanted Solich fired... but his drinking also may have had something to do with the firing.

    I agree.

What is a mediocracy? Is it like a political party which aims to lull the people into submission via reality television shows? :D :D

The players haven't executed, which has been a huge complaint this season. That may be the coaches' fault, but it's not a coaching mistake.

There's been no QB controversy. There's been no defensive plays called which create long touchdowns for the other team & allow them to win. Special Teams haven't been looked at as an unfortunate part of the game to be dealt with.

The Tennessee game was a problem with players not knowing the defense. Pellini was forced to allow Tennessee to move the ball with 5 yard passes because he couldn't blitz or stay close on the receivers when the players in the backfield didn't know where to go. Better to let them have 5 yards than 20.

I would argue that the halfback pass to Peyton Hillis was a result of nobody having an assignment on the fullback. How do I know this? Nobody even looked or ran to catch up unlike the Wynn touchdowns in Florida '03 where the D-End was like "whoops. let me try to catch up."

10 years from now, we are going to be looking back and saying, 'Damn, 10-1 in 2005. Pretty impressive.' Not, 'Yeah, we were 10-1, but not a very good 10-1.' Just a thought.

Well is winning 10 games, many of them close against very good competition, enough to dispell that reputation? Of course not! Why let facts get in the way of opinions!

If you'll remember, defense wasn't the only problem in the game. We couldn't move the ball offensively (lack of execution, once again) & when we tried to go downfield JaMarcus threw an interception & allowed Tennessee into the game! Miles felt that the defensive line could hold Tennessee to a field goal attempt in overtime, so why risk giving them the game in regulation with another interception?

It take a lot more balls to step into a coaching position following a "legend", than it does to constantly bitch about a coach that has taken your team 10-1.`
