I love the margins on Swamprat's messages. Makes him look like he's making poetry. Gotta give him some credit. He's more hardcore than I am, and I'm in the band. To my credit, however, I never leave before the final tick. In fact, I hardly ever leave for 20 minutes AFTER the final tick. Grunt. See you guys there.
I agree. I left 2 games early...1-the Notre Dame game where the temp was 1, or felt like it and 2-don't remember the opponent, but I wasn't driving and the people I rode with wanted to leave. The way I see it is the I pay too much money to leave in the 3rd quarter. I want everyone to stay saturday because it'll be cold and if everyone leaves, it will feel colder than it already is!
My comment was directed at the masses, if you're taking this personal then I've hit a nerve and there is nothing I or anyone else is going to say that will change your mind. Justifing your actions to me is pointless, save your excusses for your teacher, wife, mommy or whoever you answer to. Like I said, I don't care what you do. Your reasons are personal and no need to explain why.
You have to understand, some people (Certainly no one posting on this forum. How's that for CYA ?) go to the game so that they can go to work on Monday and say "Hey, I went to the LSU game." Remaining more than two quarters is optional for them. I brought my son, then 5, to his first game in 1999, it was the Arkansas game. He let everyone around us know it was his first game. By the end of the first quarter he had fallen asleep on my shoulder. The seats were full around me so I couldn't put him down on the bleachers. At half time, my neck and shoulder were killing me. I decided we would leave. Half way down the ramp he wakes up and wants to know where we are going. I explained that he had fallen asleep and that I couldn't hold him on my shoulder the entire game. He thereupon directed me to get back to our seats and promised not to fall asleep. When we returned to our seats the people around us applauded and cheered. That is my "brush" with leaving early from a game.
Well....in 'Bama's defense, they haven't exactly been intimidated by Death Valley over the past 25 years or so.... I think we win, though....
I've been to over 100 games in Tiger Stadium and have never left the stadium with the clock reading more than 00:00. I will never leave an LSU game early, regardless of the score, the weather, or anything else. I don't even leave a TV or radio broadcast of an LSU football game early. But that's just me... :geaux:
I am if the same inclination as SpringTiger. I have never and will never leave any Tiger sporting event until the final clock tick. I think it shows a complete lack of respect to the players and coaches who work so hard to represent us. A bad time in Tiger Stadium, the Box, or the Pmac is better than a good time just about anywhere else.
I highly doubt you will kick the hell outta anyone!!! You guys can't kick to start with and to talk such foolishness is exactly why people generally hate lswho!!! Just be thankful you got a freebie last year and you did not have to face USC the only real NC as they have shown it this year as well!! On another note I would hope you are favored but then again it ain't by much and thats sad as we have the top three offensive weapons out and we will still win by 3!!! hate to burst your bubble but you guys are not very good, you might have talent but it don't show on the field!!
I have left multiple football and baseball games early for various reasons. But I have also sat in Tiger Stadium as we were being beat by BAMA in 32 degree weather. I also sat in the rain and watched 13 innings or 7 hours of baseball at the Box. I believe people have lives outside of LSU sports and leaving early should not make you less of a fan. My father on the other hand will not leave until the band plays or players are off the field. Different strokes for different folks. Ohh by the way Tigger- Welcome! Hope you enjoy the game!
