What makes you think Tenn can hold us to 17? Is it their defense or our offense that will stop us from scoring in the 20s?

UGA's awful offense scored 33 on them. Mighty Air Force got 30. Bama's woeful offense got 13 on them. If we don't shoot ourselves in the foot or get conservative, we should get at least 20.

Tenn hasn't been winning with their defense, it's their offense that has carried them.

I don't know where you got the notion that we think we'll destroy Tennessee. UT has got a good ball club compared from last year's fluke team. (What the hell was that all about anyway?) However, I think we'll win the game for 6 reasons.

    1) REVENGE!!!!
    2) In terms of talent, we are clearly the superior team.
    3) REVENGE!!!!
    4) We are hungry for this game to PROVE that we are the surperior team AND at least beat a top-10 team on the road...0-2 so far.
    5) REVENGE!!!!
    6) Finally, our live mascot could eat your live mascot...oh, and REVENGE!!!!

The combined W - L record of our home opponents to date is 17 - 30, and only one has a winning record. Russell has got to show that he can get it done on the road against a quality opponent.

Ok so you guys want to talk REC. CORP im sure many of you who follow college football know what the vols are doing in that field(suprising) Im not going to down your team in anyway, you are a great ball team. But im going to go ahead put my orange shades on. 1.this game is taking place in Neyland(not an easy place to come play) 2. Jamarcus Russel is very good, but at time he is very bad, and yall know what i mean. But i can also say the same about our Boy Ainge. So this will be interesting to see who shows up. 3.Our play in the long run has been great this year......were outscoreing opp. in the 4th quarter like 80-21 or something like that i havent checked this morning yet, But yesterday it was 68-13 and i know we put up some points late against USC last night to take the win. SO im not sure on the exact number yet. 4.Our secondary has faced a great QB/WR tandem in CAL and FL, although we lost to FL, their passing game wasnt the best against us and they squeaked by with a 1 point win. As much as people want to hate on CAL lets face it people they are a good team, and first game or not WE CRUSHED THEM. 5.UT has always been a force at the rushing game, but this year we are just plain pathetic. I see PHIL and company working that out esp playing a team to your caliber(i think your the best team we play all year)6. I HAVE MY ORANGE GLASSES ON-AS ALWAYS 7. Our special teams is starting to look very good, and special teams i think will be a big factor in this game. Well I think im going to shut up now..........Im not predicting a score again, I know I predicted one earlier in this thread But this game has the potential to be a killer (for either team) I also read something about proving to be better then a 2 loss team. Well remember folks we have just as much to prove IF NOT MORE. This is going to be great game and good luck on SAT. GO VOLS!

One thing working in our favor is last year's game. I'm not going to predict an LSU blow-out, but I really believe that the LSU players will be playing this game with a chip on their shoulders. HOpefully, it doesn't have an adverse effect on their play (i.e. they play with too much emotion and don't focus).

Either way, I'm expecting a good game.

Just got the word a few minutes ago that my wife and I will be making the trip up to Knoxville (from Marietta, GA) for the game (good friends' of ours are UT alums and they have some extra tix).

Last year we were a mess, lets just forget about that. Thats not going to be a deciding factor in this, maybe if it was at your place, but your coming to neyland, ONE OF THE TOUGHEST PLACES TO PLAY IN AMERICA. GOOD LUCK ON SAT.

Playing at NS is definately a huge advantage but hopefully things come together and we play up to our ability, clean up costly mistakes, the refs don't change the outcome of the game.

Can't wait, should be a good one but I like our chances- both sides of the ball, we are a more talented team, without a doubt. Feel like the "Best" team win against Auburn and Florida, but we can't keep saying we have the most talent, we have to show up to play and win games.

We've only allowed 59 points in 32 quarters to Tennessee's 153 in the same- admittingly we played UL, Tulane, and Fresno but Tenn had Air Force, Marshall, and Memphis. Our defense will give the offense every opportunity to win it.

    Good luck, I can't wait.
