its not always about size and speed, its also about vision and JV has Alley beat in that dept.

Im not so sure. I said at the end of last year that I though JV was the most talented back on the team, but Broussard has improved by leaps and bounds this year. He trimmed off a little weight, seems to have picked up a step, and still rolls over people. They both have very good vision, but they look for different things. JV is pretty good (or was last year) at seeing where there would be a hole, and waiting for the play to develop. Broussard doesnt necessarily wait for a hole, but if he sees an opening, even if there is a defender there, he knows whether or not he can make it, either by outrunning them or running them over. Thats something that JV doesnt do. He always tries to juke.

Can this be correct ? LSUSports.net lists Addai at 6"0" #210 and JV 5'10' #213. Addai looks bigger than JV to me not just taller.

joe isn't even close to as big as jv. I see both of them all the time on campus. That 213 on JV is generous. he is more like 220-225. He got fat in the off season last year because all he did was party all summer. Hopefully he will work as hard as Alley did this past year and come in improved. I really feel like all 3 backs do different things very well and they can all help the team out tremendously next year.

Not to step on anybodies toes or offend anyone, but it's pointless and even ridiculous to argue over who's better and who's going to be better...yada yada yada... We have 4 good backs. Vincent was plainly the best at the end of last year as he was a man on fire, but he hasn't had that same brilliance this year. I think he'll be working to get that back for next year though. Broussard ran better this year, and as a result holds the LSU record for most rushing yards in a game, and there's no reason to think that he's not going to pick up where he left off. Addai really became a multiple threat this year on the ground and in the air, and seems to be just as comfortable lining up as a receiver, which is invaluable. And let's not forget Carey, who was #1 before he went down last season with his injury. He never got his spot back, but he was a good back when he was running, he's a great return guy, and I have no doubt that if one of the other guys went down or something, Carey would be able to help fill that spot.

There's a spot for each of them on next year's team, and I think they'll all play an important roll in our claiming another national championship next year. :thumb:

Please Do Not Forget Joe Addai

LSU might have been sunk without Addai this season. The guy made big play after big play, including a few game-winners.

I would love to see Vincent used more in the passing game. He can usually make the first guy miss, so his YAC could be incredible. Unfortunately, he seemed to be in the doghouse for much of the 2004 season.

It's a clean slate now, though. That can only mean one thing: LSU opponents are in for a ground attack like the U.S. in Desert Storm.

JA looks like he is much more cut than JV.. and talking about JV's vision.. yeah.. he sees himself getting tackled alot.. AB just runs over people.. He should have been the #1 guy last year after running over SC. Not jumping on a bandwagon here... AB has always been my guy...

J.A is a lot more ripped then JV. Jv got fat inthe offseason from all the drinking he did. Thats why he wasn't as effective. He couldn't cut very well and with his style of running if you can't cut then you are useless. Hopefully he will get his act together this offseason.

Didn't someone say that OSU ran like 70% of the time this year?

Hell, with our RB's....I think we could live off that ;)
