Funny thing... it isn't who you think it is in Louisiana.

Red, I notice that Mississippi has a double asterisk beside Football Coach. Any idea what that is about?

** It's difficult to track down salary information for employees at Ole Miss and Mississippi State, but the highest non-coach salaries we could find top out at around $500,000. While we can't prove that nobody at these schools earns more than Dan Mullen's $2.65 million per year, we think it's very unlikely.

I guess this is another example of those with direct influence of creating the most revenue earn the highest salaries.

I think only a small fraction of Miles' salary (and most coaches) is via taxpayer money.

But it is ALL guaranteed in their contracts. So if radio, TV, and shoe contracts do not produce the required cash, it comes out of Athletic Dept funds.

Miles gets $300K, Lombardi $500K... majority of Miles' salary comes from other sources.
