What is the double standard? Trump is running around the world demanding better deals and payment. Obama sent people planes of cash.
That’s facile BS. Empty or weak talk can lead to war, ask Neville Chamberlain and many others. Tough talk can deter war, see Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thacher. Right now the Russians are weak economically and militarily compared to the ‘70s. Trump is playing a strong hand weakly. That also can lead to war....again see the 1930s. Anytime up to Chamberlain’s surrender of Czechoslovakia France and England could have taken Germany easily and quickly ending Hitler and his threat before it cost 40,000,000 lives.
Except from the person who has declared the United States an adversary and enemy....Putin and Russia. Trump gives him anything and everything. In fact his attacks on the EU and NATO are closer to doing Putin’s bidding that taking a strong stand.
The Western alliance is the US. We are the defense. Russia would molly wop all of Europe if not for the US.
