I'm not its clueless as much as prideful. He is convinced he's smarter than everyone else. I mean that literally; he thinks he is far and away the smartest human being ever. That means he cannot imagine or accept being wrong. That makes him bow up and double down every time his plan goes to shit. His blinders are so big he can't keep his eyes off the road he's following. He cannot listen to others or imagine another way than his. He will not learn from his mistakes (because he hasn't made any). Now maybe that's only a shade of difference from being clueless or is the reason he appears clueless. Regardless I hope it's not because he doing it on purpose and actually getting the results he wants. That would make him a bigger traitor than Jefferson Davis.
