I have heard several people, talking about Jacques Doucet and Early in the same sentence say Doo-say and Doo-sett. It isn't a case of ignorance. People should pronounce a name however the player wants them to pronounce it.
I heard them on the radio about a week ago. Jacques says he pronounces his name doo-say and Early pronounces it doo-set.
That's because people in Texas aren't "Heberts", they are something totally different. My brother in law coached Earlly in high school, he always said "Do-Say". Maybe Early prefers "Do-Set", I don't know. I prefer the word "touchdown" after his name !
I just figured the people who make media guide asked the players or parents how to pronounce their name, and that's what they print.
