I dont really blame Michigan for not thinking that wasnt a NC game for them because it wasnt. you dont classify a game as such when only one team has that motivation. Michigan clearly could care less and went through the motions. Its the freaking media's fault for making it something it never was although it would have been nice for the Wolves to show a little more interest. As far as LSU fans being overly optimistic about going to Omaha? Most times yes.... this year, no. This team without a doubt should make it there this yr given all the talent and resources of this program. Its almost like saying Duke should make it to the Big Dance. It should be that way even though the field is only 8 teams who go, LSU is definitely a top 5 team this year. Does that mean they are a lock to go? no but they damn sure better make it or its a serious disappointment moreso than any other year as far as I am concerned.
LSU was a 2 1/2 point favorite for the game in Baton Rouge and I'm pretty sure they were a slight favorite for the SECCG too.
You sure about that? I seem to recall them being the slight underdog in the SECCG. I could be wrong though.
Well, I don't really follow the Vegas line, but the media picks were all for Georgia. After we beat them in BR, all we heard for weeks was "the better team lost" from the sports media.
LSU was favored in every game last year except NC Of that, there is no doubt. And LSU is expected to be favored in every single scheduled game again in 2004.
