Didn't Rice have 3 pitchers taken in the first 8 picks of the MLB Draft? If so, what does that say about AM hitting? :usaflagwa :laflagwav :tigbas:

texas A&M only beat rice one time, you make it sound like they owned the rice owls in your post.

rice had to come out of the loser's bracket and had pitched one more game than the aggies.

rice has the worst batters out of all the national seeds.

the bigger question should be that the LSU regional opponents were a little weak when compared to other regionals.

texas A&M will win one game against LSU but not the series.

It's not always who has the most talent, many times it is who is playing the best ball. I don't think you will find many people that will say A&M had more talent but they definitely played better ball and deserved to win the regional. LSU has won a couple CWS when there was arguably more talented teams in the field of 8 but once you get to the Super Regional level everyone has talent it's a matter of playing up to your potential in a high pressure situation. Both LSU and A&M played quality ball this past weekend but now the competition gets a litle better and the pressure a little higher. I'm glad we ended up getting the SR at the box. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!! This is not an anti Smoke ,anti Skip or anti Brady post so pitbulls please do not attack!!!!!!!   :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

We should all thank Texas Southern who beat Rice in game 1. With that loss, Rice had to win 4 straight to advance.....tough to do against good competion with any pitching staff.

And that's why you don't go off on teams (or coaches) because of a loss or losses. That's the nature of baseball. Earlier a poster complained (after a DH sweep of Vandy) that LSU should be better than having to take both games to the wire against a last place team (that "last place team" is in the Supers, by the way). Rice's pitcher did a good job against Texas Southern but he hung a curve ball at the wrong time and the guy hit it out for a 3 run dinger. Nobody's fault. Every pitcher from Cy Young to Lane Mestepay has thrown a balloon up there at a bad time. That's just baseball. TSU only had 18 wins all year but their pitcher nutted up and pitched probably his best game of the season. He was in the regionals and simply performed his best. That's just baseball. Same thing in Rice's final game. Best pitcher on the team, after getting a 3 run lead, threw a coconut instead of a BB and... BAM...Salami time. Sad for Rice, but that's just baseball. One poster here can't seem to get the Arkansas sweep out of his craw. LSU could have won all 3 games but untimely errors resulted in at least 3 three run homers at crucial times in the games. The Hogs simply took advantage. That's just baseball. And that is why 6 out of 6 Super Regionals is an unbelievable accomplishment. Just ask Stanford....or Rice. If you were a Rice fan and returned that pitching staff after winning it all, you had Omaha reservations in your pocket. In baseball, however, you should let the chickens hatch before you start counting them.
