Does Mississippi and Louisana being poor have anything to do with the fact that we both produce outstanding football players and have the highest per capita of NFL players in the nation? Alabama is also very high on the list and they are one of the poorest also. I think MS. is first and La. is second. Alabama is 4th the last time I checked. :thumb:

Correct. Louisiana has so many good high school athletes....much more than Alabama and Georgia, Tenn., the Carolinas that we ought to be good in basketball/football every year. Maybe this is the spark to ignite us to stay atop the conference for years to come. I think it will......

I'm leaving Brady alone from now on too. I'll criticize when warranted but no more asking for his ouster.

I am just kidding around, And I do see your point. But, as conatined chaos said, LA does have some schools that pull athletes (just not as many big schools)...

What a bad ass team any state would have if they could pool their top schools!!!

Because we love to compete, and we love to fight.

It all goes back to January 8th, 1815, when a raggedy bunch of Louisianians kicked butt on the most fearsome army of the day: the British Redcoats.

Of course, we had a little help from some volunteers from elsewhere, but, the sons of Louisiana did the heavy lifting.

LSU, Tulane, UNO, Southern, La. Tech, McNeese St, Grambling, ULL, ULM, Southeastern, Northwestern St. Louisiana has loads of schools to divide the talent among. Granted, there's only one major, while Miss. has two. But when you look at the minors on that list, you see that Tulane, La. Tech, ULL, and Southern have all managed to make a mark at some point in the NCAA tournament. Can Alcorn or MVS say the same?

Not sure what your point about crowds is. I do know the Juco's don't figure into conversations about a state's talent production at all. No one gets an offer from Ole Miss, and chooses Hinds CC instead. The Jucos are there for the guys who can't make the grades at the 4 years, and they draw from other states as well.

Louisiana has its share of those too. SUNO, Dillard, Centenary, Xavier, and several more. Once again, these schools have no effect on who the big schools attract.
