To be a successful, vice mediocre, season, LSU football needs to: (you can make multiple choices)

  1. Have nine or more wins

  1. I know what you mean Grad, but remember, in 89 LSU was competitive in every single game, and went 4-7
  2. I think most people would be happy with 9 win seasons, what they don't like
IMO, is how we lose, the fact that "trends" are starting to be obvious, recruiting
is starting to slide, and not sure how this staff plans to correct OBVIOUS issues.:geaux:
  3. How about this then smarty.... :)

LSU should win all of the games it is heavily favored in. The final score is not important to me though, just win them.

For the more evenly matched games, and even those we are big underdogs in, LSU should be highly competitive.

There shouldn't be any blowout losses like LSU had in 2008.

That is how good is good enough for ME. If that works out to a 4-7 season one time, then I am OK with it. But only once. ;)
  4. Obvious to those who seek turmoil.
  5. Wins are an up and down thing. You wont constantly win 10 games in the current landscape of the SEC. The Pac 10 or some other conferences but not the SEC. So I dont necessarily use the number of wins or bowls as a guage. For me its the quality of team thats being put out on the field each week. Thats where my problem has been with Miles and staff the last two years. We dont see much improvement at all in players or schemes. LSU keeps running smack into the same damn walls each week. When there is an improvement in one area another area will certainly slack. We see a lot of mental obstacles with LSU, a big lack of focus. I can accept some losses, I cant accept underachieving and underperforming. The only game LSU looked good in all facets was the Auburn game. Thats inexcusable.
  6. This is what is good enough for me:
    • I want a team that plays disciplined and well executed football with minimal mistakes and penalties.
    • I expect well designed game plans and innovative play calls that are tailored to the strengths of the teams talent.
    • I want to see the development of athletes and the maximum utilization of talent on the field.
    • Recruiting should be able to pull in any athlete from the state with very few exceptions and be able to get targeted recruits in other areas of the country as needed.

If all of that is achieved, than I am fine with whatever record the team plays to. However, I think if all of that is achieved our record will be very good year in and year out.

For five, six million (whatever the coaching budget is) I think that is reasonable.

  7. Very well stated. I agree 1,000% :thumb:
  8. What are you saying??? Are you talking about me??? If so, what did I just say that
    is not true???:geaux:
  9. Has anyone, in the history of college football, ever done this?

    Anyone?

    Bueller?
  10. Very well stated.
