I think Skip wanted to hire Pierre. Why else fire Brady in mid-season? Because it gave Pierre a chance to show what he could do as a head coach. Otherwise assistants of fired coaches just never get hired by the school as his replacement. They want a cleaner change than that.

Also Skip didn't think he needed a search firm to find a head coach. Why spend the money if you intend to hire Pierre?

The fact that they have now hired a search firm means that Pierre is not going to get the job. Search firms allow the AD and LSU to avoid public disclosure rules. They allow prospective coaches to discuss a job without contacting LSU. It gives them deniability. LSU is going after a sitting head coach, boys, and a search firm allows them to do it privately.

Are we really having a debate about whether LSU has had a better point guard than Chris Jackson since he left the Tigers in 1990?

the argument would be that cj wasnt a good pg but a good scorer. look at your own stats of his. nice assist to TO ratio---maybe nice for a 2.

but no i wont make the argument that lsu has had better since. but it was posted that lsu hasnt had a great pg since cj. i'll argue that is a very wrong opinion.
