I'm not as well versed as some are on recruiting, so... With all the out of state commits we have, and this from what I understand is a banner year for La. players, how many more out of state guys do some of y'all who follow recruiting close think we'll sign? And do you think we'll get all the in-state players we want? It seems our class is filling up fast.
It's become pretty apparent that the "banner" year for Louisiana was overhyped & also plagued by poor grades/character. We will get the in-state guys we want though, probably 8-11 Louisiana guys total in this class. I only see us finishing with 2-4 more out of state guys in this class. That would put us at close to 50% in-state guys for the class. It is still early though, and we won't really know, particularly about in-state guys, until after summer camps.
Mr projections: In State: Randle Bell Downs Faulk Ford Davenport Mingo Jones Janzen OOS: Shepard Garrett Pratt Richardson Orelus Brockers McFarland Montgomery Minter Bostic Ferrell Loston Calhoun That's a 9:13 ratio. If we don't get McFarland, we take Sentimore. Then it's a 10:12 ratio. If we land a big time OOS OL, then Faulk is out. Might take a 3rd OOS WR like Blake, Evans, Carter or Patterson. Getting Bostic might end the recruitment of Tahj Jones (5 LBs is not out of the question).
I've got a feeling Sentimore may get an offer regardless..the depth chart is going to be a little thinner when he gets on campus and I think hes probably versitile enough to play all over the line a la Ricky Jean-Francois. I'd hate to lose his talent..
You may be right. It might depend on what position Aghayere & Hagan play or look to project at once they get on campus. Aghayere was listed as a DT although he was recruited as a DE, and Hust was listed as an OLine even though he was recruited as a DT. Also, DT gets a bit thin next year. Assuming RJF goes pro (not unlikely & we should probably recruit as though he will) - we will only have 4 DTs on the roster next year (also assuming Blackwell stays at OLine).
