I can't claim the longest on here based on earlier
posts but 1972 is the year I became a true tiger
fan even though I saw many of thier games prior to
that. I was born in 1961. 1972 I was in the Boy
Scouts and we got to go to the home games for free as we were ushers. I can claim 33 years of
seriously following the tigers. Even in Hawaii I am
still and always be a tiger fan. LSU!

I was born & raised in SW LA and my first exposure to LSU football was listening to it on the radio when John Ferguson and Walter Hill were doing the play-by-play. I didn't see my first game in Tiger Stadium until the mid 60's when I was a student. I spent 20 years in the Air Force and was transferred to Colorado in the early '70s. When I was dating my wife before we were married I remember going out on a Saturday night and I was more focused on the game than her. It was a game when Bert Jones threw a TD pass with just a couple of seconds left on the clock. Of course, I went ape sh*t when we won the game. Amazingly enough we've been together for 30+ years. She tolerates me being a LSU Tiger fanatic and I tolerate her being a Dallas Cowboy fan
Thanks to an old high school buddy I made a return visit to Tiger Stadium in 2003 for the Florida game. I'm still getting blamed for that loss. Last year I went to the Homecoming game with Troy and this year we're going to try and make the Auburn game.

Once a Tiger, always a Tiger. :geauxtige

I am like CoTiger, been following LSU since 1958 (born in 1952). Must been 1959 , for XMAS, I got a "Billy Cannon, Hiesman Trophy" sweatshirt. They couldn't get it off me till spring. It was one of lifes big dissappointments the next year when I'd outgrown it!!!!

I followed the Tigers BIG TIME through the 60's. I thought nature had endowed the Tigers with a RIGHT to win at least 8 games a year. First time we didn't, sometime in the 70's, I felt real funny for a few weeks. There had been a movement in THE FORCE, and the world would never be the same again. There were supposed to be "things you could count on", and there went one (all the others are long gone by now as well!).

I quoted locoguano, because I was at that game, which we won over Fla. St., 55-21, and they got at least one TD after the two consecutive Unsportsmanlike Conduct" penalties we got for all the oranges being thrown. It was quite a shower!

The real dark ages of LSU football were in the 90's. Sure glad that's over.

Athletic dept. made up for it with Saban's hire, some great recruiting, 2 SEC championships, and one Nat. Championship. I remember the one in 1958, but I was only 6, and I appreciate the 2003 one a lot more.

Trust me, you aren't the first person to point that out
I've caught a ton of grief from friends and relatives. I was so despondent and pissed at the start of the 4th quarter last year at the Troy game I was looking for a high spot to jump from  To be honest those two games were the flattest, unemotional performances I've seen. I was in the South end zone for both games and the fans weren't even in to it. Weird.

I started going to the games in 1963 as a kid and have been hooked ever since.

Then got to attend many games on the sidelines beginning in 1978 through 1981 while going down with a television station I work with.

You would not believe the roar of the crowd down on the field compared to being in the stands. And this was BEFORE Tiger Stadium was expanded of course!
