I doubt if he were to leave that it would have any bearing on whether a recruit would still come to LSU. I dont think any recruit would come here to play for Fisher. Rather they want to play for LSU.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. I think a kid like Jarrett Lee, although publicly confirming his commitment regardless of CJF's decision, would have some serious decisions to make not knowing who his QB coach would be.

Huh? Jimbo the "Main Recruiter"? No. Maybe in the past, but not the last 2 years.

this obviously will have a small impact, but players committed here when we didnt even have a HEAD coach yet...

it's nieve to believe the players who committed here committed to play for Jimbo, over committing to play for a powerhouse

Hatcher, I too am "just south of the Hub City". Where you at? I'm in the metropolis of Purvis with several other Tigers. Must have something to do with our HS colors!:geauxtige

If Jimbo moves on, it will not hurt LSU.

Top-tier football programs like LSU not only send players to the NFL, but also send coaches to bigger jobs. Top coaches become coordinators, then they become head coaches. It's a mark of a good program and it not only attracts ambitious players, but also ambitious young coaches.

I dont think him moving on would hurt recruiting. Players commit to play for LSU!, not OC Fisher. A HC may have a little more influence on a commit. I remember a few years ago when Saban left Dajleon Farr a big time TE decommited from LSU and went to Miami. I dont think an OC has the much effect.

BINGO! For the most part our recruits are LSU recruits, not coaches recruits. In a few selected cases, ie: players from outside our recruting base/outside LA, some can be lost when their main recruiter leaves a school. However, LSU has the recruiting base right in our back yard so most of our recruits want to play at LSU regardless of who the coach is. As long as we are doing well, the recruits will come.

The new OC will have more of a recruiting impact than Fisher leaving. Offensive recruits want to know what kind of system they will be playing in before they sign on the dotted line. It'll be important to hire an OC before signing day. If not, them Miles will have to sell them the type of system we will have.
