Most of them are no worse than a bad thunderstorm except that it last for hours or even multiple days. But every once in a while a big mother comes around and that will make your butthole pucker for sure.
We went to my mother in law. Bless her, she graciously let us bring the three dogs and cat. Loved my mom, but she would have said, “Tough shit.” We are doing well, getting lots of posts, emails and text. Water coming up pretty good.
I sat through Super Typhoon Rita in The Philippines. Had two story house, sat on inside steps with a cooler of cold ones and watched the water come up on inside walls about 8 - 9 feet. It truly sucked.
Not as a "guest." It's when you have some skin in the game. When you hear shingles popping off your roof, have kids inside when the power goes off, and wonder if the rain is going to come inside that's scary.
